It all began with a dream of helping people and the community. After working a few years for the Royal York Hotel and the CN Tower, in 1989 Tony eventually branched out and started his first contracting company, Excel-1 Mechanical. In its early stages Tony found it difficult attracting new customers because he was an unknown entity so he signed on to be a contractor with the reputable Home Owners Association (HOA). In a very short time Tony became a leading contractor in HOA known for his work performance, care for customers, trust and friendliness. Mrs Harrington, President of the Home Owners Association was extremely pleased with his hard work and dedication to HOA and its members. Tony worked closely with Mrs. Harrington for years and during this time he met many seniors whom were in need of care and attention, whether it be personal care or home care (Tony was often found stopping at the local Swiss Chalet buying and bringing lunch to seniors that were isolated and in need of a friendly chat), Tony always had a passion for helping seniors – he saw his grandmother in every face of those he helped. Tony skills and ability to form relationships awarded him with a major contract with Hakim Optical for all plumbing and mechanical projects and this guided him in commercial endeavors. During this time, Tony established a strong relationship with Mr. Hakim, the Founder and President of Hakim Optical and eventually Nader found himself project managing for Hakim Optical as he expanded his business throughout Canada. Tony was responsible for all aspects of new branch openings duties that included hiring trades, managing external contractors, job biddings and negotiations, inspections and permit processing to name a few. For years Tony’s primary business was commercial clients and although it was very rewarding on the personal achievement side he felt unfulfilled. As his parents and in-laws began to age as well as long time customers it became apparent to Tony that his calling was truly in helping the elderly population. Tony heard all too often how others were mistreating this demographic and he decided to refocus his business and dedicate his services to helping families with aging parents and seniors that continue to live independently in the community. SENIORS AID was born from Tony’s passion to make things right in the community for seniors and adult children wanting the best for their aging parents. Tony has promised to make a difference; he and his team are committed to providing a level of service that was found in the “good old days”. Tony also invented an emergency LED light bulb to help seniors and families during an emergency, also helping the First Responders to find house addresses faster.
